About Us

Established in 1998, the Red River Athletic Conference is composed of 14 four-year member institutions in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico. Included among RRAC member institutions are both publicly funded university branch campuses and small independent colleges and universities that include athletic programs as a part of their comprehensive student-life programs. Our members include faith-based colleges, HBCU’s and Hispanic-serving schools.

Our schools compete for national championships as part of the NAIA, an alternative to the NCAA.

The RRAC promotes the education and development of students through intercollegiate athletics participation, academic achievement, and character development. We emphasize the NAIA Champions of Character initiative, an innovative outreach program designed to instill character values in student-athletes and coaches, contains five core values embraced by each RRAC member institution. These include respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

It is the explicit purpose of the RRAC to provide a community of member institutions that share a commitment to vigorous and principled competition between teams of student-athletes who represent their colleges and universities well.

Thanks for being part of our community!
